Project
Ladeburg Bunker was built between 1982 and 1986 as a protected command post for the 41st Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade, responsible for air defence in the Berlin area. The two-storey structure, its building services and supply systems had to operate reliably with a high degree of operational autonomy.
Contribution to the project
From 1982 to 1985, Frank-Michael Adam inspected construction work as a senior officer responsible for production management and control in Engineer Construction Regiment 2. He checked workmanship and compliance with technical and military requirements.
From 1985, he represented the military client. As head of the construction preparation working group within the Air Forces/Air Defence Command, he supported completion and preparations for testing and handover.
Testing and outcome
In 1986, Adam took part in a three-day trial of autonomous operation. The technical systems were tested against the required operating parameters. Following successful testing, the command post was handed over to the 41st Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade.
